A journey through the night, and everything the body quietly does while we rest.
Sofia and Mr. Tie do not get told why sleep matters. They go inside and find out. The story shrinks them down into the body at night, where the immune system repairs, the brain sorts through the day, and everything that looked like doing nothing turns out to be the busiest work of all.
It turns the question every parent knows - "why do I have to go to sleep?" - into a far better one: "what amazing things happen while I am sleeping?"
